From 16th to 23rd June 2024, we, the HLA 4 class, set off for Malta to not only improve our English skills but also to get to know the beautiful island.
The mornings at the language school were intensive, but we improved our language skills in all areas. In addition to grammar and vocabulary, we also learned a lot about Maltese culture and way of life.
A varied program
In addition to language lessons, there was also a varied program on the agenda. For example, we took a boat trip in the harbour of Valletta, the capital of Malta. From offshore we were able to admire the impressive fortifications and defences.
Another highlight was the chocolate and wine tasting. Here we learned a lot about Maltese chocolate making and tasted various wines from the region.
For us interested in agriculture, a tour of a local farm was a must. There we learned how fruit and vegetables are grown in Malta.
Swimming in the Blue Lagoon
The absolute highlight of our language trip was the visit to the "Blue Lagoon". This dreamlike lagoon with its turquoise water is a true paradise for swimming (but not so much for snorkelling). We spent a wonderful afternoon enjoying the sun and the sea.
Football? No way!
Of course, the fact that the European Football Championship was taking place during our language trip left us all unimpressed.
Conclusion
Our language trip to Malta was a complete success! We not only learned a lot but also had a lot of fun. Malta is a beautiful island with many sights, good weather and lots of sea!
